The Belgian Queens

A tribute to the six women who have served as Belgium's queen consorts:
  • Louise-Marie of Orléans (1812-1850)
  • Marie-Henriette of Austria (1836-1902)
  • Elisabeth of Bavaria (1876-1965)
  • Astrid of Sweden (1905-1935)
  • Fabiola de Mora y Aragón (1928-present)
  • Paola Ruffo di Calabria (1937-present)

  1. Excellent! Very well done and there were quite a few pictures I'd never seen before. I think the ones of Queen Astrid with the children are my favorites.

  2. Thank you! That is very much appreciated.

I just wish these videos wouldn't show up as black screens, when they're not playing.

  3. Just a small and silly correction: Queen Elisabeth was not "of Bavaria", but "in Bavaria". She belonged to a collateral branch of the House of Wittelsbach, who were granted the title of Dukes "in" Bavaria.

  4. You are correct, her title before her marriage was "Duchess in Bavaria."

I have, however, seen her called "Elisabeth of Bavaria," in a looser sense, when the title is not being used.
