Just a small and silly correction: Queen Elisabeth was not "of Bavaria", but "in Bavaria". She belonged to a collateral branch of the House of Wittelsbach, who were granted the title of Dukes "in" Bavaria.

ReplyDeleteI have, however, seen her called "Elisabeth of Bavaria," in a looser sense, when the title is not being used.
