If I am not mistaken, Adamo, the singer, was knighted by King Albert II. Many royal watchers sniggered at that, because it was suspected Paola had had a tryst with Adamo, probably during the time Albert and Paola were so estranged - the song is seen as evidence.
I don't know what to believe of it, though. I should think Paola was beautiful and enchanting enough to have a fellow Italo-Belgian create a spontaneous song without anything else playing. She was easily the most beautiful woman of her time, and she still is a classy, elegant lady.
