Madonna & Child

My favorite painting by Rogier Van der Weyden. Dated after 1454. Via WebMuseum.

St. Luke Drawing the Virgin Mary

Here we have an interesting painting, by the great Flemish artist Rogier Van der Weyden (1400-1464). St. Luke (apparently a self-portrait of Van der Weyden himself) is making a drawing for his painting of the Blessed Mother. The painting is supposed to be dated 1440.
