In terms of Queens, Marie Antoinette is my absolute favourite. I also love Sophia Dorothea (Gerorge IV's wife), Princess Diana, Madame Henriette (Minette), Christina of Sweden...oh dear...there are quite a few, but I guess these are my top ladies. What an interesting question Matterhorn:)

Wrote a hefty essay on the subject once, though with a more religious than royal bent, but most were royalty anyway. Some of the names were Matilda of Canossa, Isabella of Castile, Catherine of Aragon, Mary I of England, Marie d'Guise, Mary Queen of Scots, Christina of Sweden, Henrietta Maria and Mary of Modena, Maria Theresa of Austria, Eugenie of France and Madame Nhu of Vietnam, though not often thought of as royalty, was the granddaughter of an Emperor. I guess you could say I admire the 'tough chicks' lol.

I like Empress Zita of Austria, because she suffered a lot in her life but confronted everything with a deep faith. She raised 8 children by herself, in exile, with few money, but yet she was able to raise her sons with good values, which have been transmitted to her grandchildren. In my country lived one of Zita's granddaughters, and this archduchess was well known here because of her humanitarian work. I am sure that this legacy comes from Empress Zita.
Regarding current royals, my favourite is Princess Marie Astrid of Luxembourg. She does not appear very often publicly but, whenever she does, she is the spitting image of what a princess should be. Always pleasant and approachable but at the same time she keeps a certain distance and reserve. She is married to an Austrian archduke (Zita's grandson), and has five children. She is wonderful.
